Greetings Queens West!!
I hope everyone is enjoying the rest of their summer! My goodness, time has certainly flown by!!
I feel like it was just yesterday that I started my journey as your Lt. Governor, and yet the year is almost done!
Our Division had a good turnout for our District Convention in Niagara Falls, and we had a great time getting to know members from all over the District and sharing ideas with them. We also got to spend some time with our new International Trustee from Austria, Ernest and his lovely family as they came to visit as well! The Division was recognized for our support of Kamp Kiwanis and those of us that attended got to strengthen our connections and friendships!
We just finished our Summer BBQ at the Ronald McDonald House which is always a fantastic event!! Thanks to those that attended and helped get all of the food and materials to make this event happen!
This has truly been an amazing year and we should all be proud of what we have accomplished as a division! I hope many of you will plan to attend our Mid Year conference in February, as we will be celebrating this years achievements up in Binghamton, NY. Look for updates on applying for awards and details on registration later on this year.
Remember, increasing our membership is a big part of our goals this year and now our Division is in second place with a few less new members then our neighbors in Long Island South Central. Let’s keep those new memberships coming in as we strengthen our clubs with each new member brought in. Each new member is a new idea, or a new resource to help us help our communities and make more of a difference. As a District, we need to keep growing our numbers and I would like to see our Division take the lead and finish the year as number 1 in new members so let’s keep them coming. Remember for Governor Hank’s Distinguished member program, a member simply needs to sponsor 2 new members to be Distinguished! Please get them in the database and take us from Good to Great!!
We still have about 4 weeks left in this service year, so let's make the most of it! As we begin preparations for the new year, which starts on October 1st, let's take the time to recognize those that have helped us during the year. This is the perfect time to order awards, create certificates or just write a thank you card for all of the unsung heroes that have helped make your year special! Also, current club boards should be helping the new board of officers transition and plan out next year. Let's finish up our year strong and proud!!
I hope to see many of you attend my final Divisional meeting on September 23rd at Porto Bello's. We will have a lot to discuss and we will turn over reigns to the division to Lt. Governor Designate, Debbie!
